OPTION 1 - PRIVATE TOUR

Day 1: Arequipa - Cabanaconde

Early in the morning our journey begins with an unforgettable, about 4 hour long drive towards Colca Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world (3.400m). We pass Pampa Cañahuas and the nature reserve Aguada Blanca, the habitat of the vicunas and alpacas (the camels of South America). The highest point of our tour, we reach 4.900m (absolute altitude). On the route we admire Pre-Columbian terraces that are cultivated up to now by the native population. The Colca is an ideal place to operate adventure sports. We stay in the village of Cabanaconde.

 

Day 2: Cabanaconde - Cruz del Condor - Puno
We leave very early to visit La Cruz del Condor, where we can observe the biggest bird of prey in the world, the condor, when flying. On our way back we will visit the villages of Yanque, Maca and Achoma. A very good opportunity to appreciate the lifes of the habitants who almost live like the Incas. We will have a buffet lunch (not included) before we continue to Puno in our private vehicle. On this route, we stop at the Bosque de Piedra de Imata, watching Flamengo and there domestic birds.

NOTE: As the tour is with a private transportation, you can also choose to stop at different places as Cruz del Condor or other places. Just talk to the driver and he can show you more places and bring you there.

 

OPTION 2 - GROUP TOUR in Touristic Bus

1 Day: Arequipa – Chivay

We are starting our incredible tour to Colca Canyon at 8 a.m. in the morning from your hotel and will drive for 4 hours in a touristic bus to Chivay. The Colca Canyon is one of the deepest Canyons in the world (3,400 meters). On our way, we will pass the Pampa Cañahuas and the nature reserve Aguada Blanca, the home of Vikunjas and Alpacas. The highest point we will reach on our tour is at 4,900 meters. Besides, we will see how the original habitants maintain their culture and tradition. The Canyon is the perfect place to experience some adventures. We will spend the night in a village near Chivay.

 

2 Day: Chivay – Cruz del Cóndor – Puno

Our tour starts quite early today to the Cruz del Condor, where it is almost always possible to see the world's largest flying birds – the Condor. On our way back to Chivay, we will stop at some traditional villages Yanque, Coporaque, Achoma and Maca, where it is possible to buy some of the colourful and well-designed local crafts. Before we will journey on to Puno in another tourist bus, we will have a lunch buffet (not included). On the way to Puno, we will stop at Bosque de Piedra de Imata, where we can watch Flamingos and other birds. Our tour ends in Puno.
