Day 1: Arrival in Cusco
Arrival in Cusco. Depending on arrival time, it is possible to take a guided tour through the city. We visit the K’oricancha or Temple of the Sun - the most important Incan religious centre - and archeological sites including Kenco, Sacsayhuaman, Puca-Pucara y Tambomachay, absorbing something of the mystic tradition of the Incas in each site.

 

Day 2: Flight to Puerto Maldonado
Today we take our flight to Puerto Maldonado. Depending on arrival time, we have time to visit the city and the lookout of Puerto Maldonado.

 

Day 3: Jungle
After breakfast we take a boat into the jungle. After a short hike where we can admire many amazing animals and giant trees of the rainforest. After the boat ride across the lagoon we will arrive at our lodge. We have time to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon we search the inhabitants of the lagoon by boat. By nightfall, we have the chance to see caimans. Dinner at the lodge.

 

Day 4: Jungle
Today we get up early and make our way to observe parrots and monkeys. After the hike we have breakfast at the lodge.

Later, we can observe on a boat trip sea otters, monkeys and colorful birds. Lunch. In the afternoon we get to know the special healing plants of the jungle and take a walk through the forest. After dinner we take a night hike to see the animals that come out at dusk.

 

Day 5: Jungle
After breakfast we go to the other side of the lagoon to see the largest trees in the jungle. On our walk we can climb on the big roots of the giant trees and swing with vines. Our guide will tell us the specifics of the plants and trees of the rainforest.
After lunch we go back to Puerto Maldonado. In the afternoon, arrival at the hotel, dinner.

 

Day 6: Cusco
After breakfast, return flight to Cusco. We hope you are enchanted by the diversity of the Peruvian rainforest.
